What you can use now, how to get the source, and what is still unverified.

Hopkit is an experimental, unpublished framework. You can play the games, follow the eight-chapter guide, and download portable game source. The local initializer requires a Hopkit checkout. There is no public npm install command for the runtime yet.

Source downloads include the unpublished runtime packages under .hopkit/vendor/. Keep those files with the project. Generated games run their build tools under Node.js 24 or newer, with npm, pnpm or Bun as the package manager.

The current games are offline browser games. Internet multiplayer and backend options for Cloudflare, Vercel, and a self-hosted VPS are future work. Export creates a local ZIP; hosting and package publication are separate steps.

Automated checks and recorded Chromium play sessions support this preview. They do not establish support for every browser, physical controller, phone or hosting service. Test the devices and host you intend to ship to.

The roadmap distinguishes implemented foundations from planned work. Deep React/Vue/Svelte adapters, desktop exports and twelve new starter templates are planned. Electron with Forge is the first desktop export target, not a shipped exporter. Editor foundations are a future direction; no editor exists yet.
